Melissa is the founder, curator, and promoter of the Femme Rising & Them Rising Showcase Series at Mills Hardware, in association with Women in Music Canada Hamilton/Halton, & Femme Rising / Them Rising: In the Round at small local venues in the GHA — facilitating community and development for femme and queer artists.

Melissa is also the founder and head vocal coach at Rising Studios, offering vocal, instrumental, and artist development in several GHA locations — the Bayfront neighborhood in Hamilton, the Village of Carlisle, and Bronte Village in Oakville. A safe environment for music makers of all levels to learn, live, perform, and find community through music.
